This state-of-the-art exhibit, extending over an acre, raised awareness of species conservation efforts and improved the overall guest experience while providing conditioned habitats for snow and Amur leopards, as well as red pandas. Chinese motifs throughout extended the Asian feel of the stonework, moon gates, and airy plazas. Elevated platforms, climate control, and climbing poles added to the comfort level of the animals housed within. Special aspects of the mechanical systems included limited visibility of equipment to the public while providing special climate control for indoor birthing areas, plus specially chilled outdoor caves and logs to improve comfort for the animals.
