Our Founding
In 1959, Walt Scheeser and Ned Buckley formed a partnership in Akron for mechanical engineering, calling it Scheeser and Buckley, Consulting Engineers. Upon determining the need for an electrical engineering department, Rex Mayfield’s Canton-based company later merged with them. The name Scheeser Buckley Mayfield was then established. SBM’s founders stressed integrity, hard work, and building relationships. These ethics have sustained SBM and made it successful throughout the decades.
Scheeser Buckley Mayfield celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2019! Throughout that year, special events were held for our staff, our clients, and our partners. We shared pictures of the fun below, along with an anniversary letter from our then-president and our memoryline of significant SBM events from the past six decades.
